Our Peer Listeners are required to report any & all mention of topics that indicate past/present child abuse and the abuse of vulnerable adults to the appropriate authorities.

Although we are not legally obligated, we also report those who are in immediate harm to themselves or others and/or students participating in illegal activities. Peer listeners will report to their school appropriate reporting forms on said students. Anonymous and identified users who are reporting immediate harm to themselves will be directly transferred to their campus wellness center. If you are currently in a crisis, we kindly ask that immediately contact the crisis resources below or schedule an appointment with your wellness center.

Please note that our peer listeners are not physicians or licensed therapists, and we do not provide mental health treatment or therapy

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

Available 24/7 at 1-800-273-8255 and by chat, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provide free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress, and to the loved ones of people who have committed suicide.

For concerns regarding child abuse:

Childhelp

The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline is available by phone 24/7 at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453). Childhelp is also not a reporting agency, but if you have questions about what is considered child abuse in your state, or would happen if you made a Child Protective Services (CPS) report or went to the police about your concerns, they can answer them. Every state is different when it comes to reporting child abuse, and Childhelp can get you the phone number, or website where possible, to make a report. First-hand reports are always more valuable to child abuse investigators than when someone else makes them.

For concerns regarding adult or elder abuse:

Frozen Berries

National Adult Protection Services

This national organization can direct you to the phone number, or website where possible, to report suspected abuse or neglect of an older adult or an adult with a disability. First-hand reports are always more valuable to elder abuse investigators than when someone else makes them.

For survivors of sexual abuse by someone other than an intimate partner:

Dry Flowers

RAINN

The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network has a 24/7 hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (1-800-656-4673) and has chat services available in English and Spanish as well. They can connect survivors with local sexual assault programs, too.

For non disabled adults facing abuse from anyone neighbors, roommates, employers, and strangers:

Heart Shape Cookie Cutter

211
