Background:
Hey everyone! My name is Lizzy Tutu and I’m an M4 at SSOM! I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology. During my first gap year, I worked as a Clinical Research Assistant in Pediatric Behavioral Health and as a Medical Scribe in the Emergency Department. For the four years following (including my first year in medical school!) I worked as a Milieu Therapist at the Hasbro Children’s Partial Hospitalization Program, an intensive med-psych program for kids. I am interested in Family Medicine because of the broad spectrum of patients I will be able to treat, from “cradle to grave”, and the synergistic nature of primary care with other specialties! As a first generation student, I had a non-traditional journey to medical school. I joined Peer Listeners because I want to be for fellow students, what I wish I had during my early years of medical school. Our path through school may come with hiccups and speed bumps, and I want to be a helpful resource for fellow students so that we can all make it to our destination!

A Bit About Me

I’m originally from Providence, RI! (Yes it’s a real place lol) I moved to Chicago during the pandemic which was…. Interesting lol…but have enjoyed exploring this beautiful city over the years! I love to eat/try new restaurants, spend time with friends, exercise, travel, watch movies/TV (I’m a reality TV girlie; name it and I’ve probably watched it lol), and am always down for a board game night!
