Background:
Chicagoland-native! I grew up in Northwest Indiana and moved to Chicago to study biology at Loyola University Chicago in 2016. After graduating undergrad at the start of the pandemic, I stayed in Chicago to work full-time as a Clinical Research Coordinator on Lurie Children’s Hospital’s Neuromuscular team. After taking about 3 ½ gap years and almost 8 years of living in Chicago, I moved to the southside suburb of Homewood, IL at the start of my M1 year. Here, I currently live with my partner and our 3 cats and manage a 35-60 min driving commute to get to Stritch. If you ever have questions or concerns about living with a partner and/or commuting, I am here for you! Life still happens during medical school, but that doesn’t mean you have to handle it on your own. I am grateful that a program such as Peer Listeners exists and I hope I can contribute to providing a safe space to all other students who wish to feel heard.

A Bit About Me

Family is incredibly important to me. I am 1 of 3 siblings to which I am the middle child/eldest daughter. I have two brothers who both have had kiddos in the past year! My favorite identity is Titi Kiki to both my niece and nephew. Both my parents are adopted, which makes our immediate family pretty small. My mother was a transracial adoptee (meaning she was adopted by a family of a different race). My multiracial identity is also very important to me and something I yearn to understand more about. For fun, I enjoy boxing, hammocking, camping, hiking, and bubble baths!!
